02/2017: Kars’ has recently acquired a Nikon 3D X-ray Computed Tomography system (180 kV and 225 kV) that provides micro focus CT scan capability and allows us to render objects in 3D using Volume Graphics!
05/19/2016: Dr. Nikhil Kar was retained as an materials engineer expert witness in relation to greenhouse plastic tarp failures. The trial resulted in a successful outcome with a plaintiff verdict in the case, Pimientos vs. Poly-Ag.
11/2015: KARS’ has acquired a Faxitron Digital X-Ray system for non-destructive imaging of materials for defect examination. Please check out some of the images we have posted under Lab/Equipment: Faxitron Digital X-Ray System.
09/2015: Dr. Nikhil Kar was rendered an expert witness in the case of Warren vs. Kaiser with regards to a titanium medical implant failure. His testimony in deposition and trial helped assist in a favorable outcome for the Plaintiff.
6/2014: Dr. Naresh Kar successfully assisted a large insurance company in subrogation recovery related to property damage caused by a defective refrigerator valve.
5/2014: Dr. Naresh Kar and the Karslab team assisted in the favorable outcome of lawsuit claims made towards a major window manufacturer regarding premature peeling of paint from homes in La Jolla, California.
4/2014: Dr. Ramesh Kar provided composite failure analysis expertise that assisted a major law firm in Los Angeles obtain a $21.7 million product s liability and negligence verdict (July 2013) against a jet ski manufacturer. The jet ski manufacturer had been sued for product liability; and the case involved a passenger suffering brain damage.
2/2014: KARS’ has recently acquired a new JEOL 6610 LV SEM for non-conductive materials microscopy and analysis.
6/9/2014: Dr. Naresh Kar testified at trial in Fresno, California (on a personal injury / property damage matter) resulting in a successful 12-0 jury verdict.
5/23/2014: Congratulations to Vicente Cheng who received his Master’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering from UCLA with a specialization in Structural materials.
5/22/2014: Congratulations to Dr. Nikhil Kar who received his Professional Engineering License and will be teaching a course on Failure Analysis at USC in Fall 2014.
